Arkansas City Chiropractor Dr. Jeff Wood
After nearly 20 years of practicing, the results achieved through Chiropractic still amaze me. At the Wood Chiropractic Clinic we see miracles happening with our patients every day! To me, that proves that by restoring proper nerve communication anything is possible.
My first career was as a professional musician for over 14 years. I believed that to be my given talent. I had entertained the idea of becoming a medical doctor, a dentist, or even a mortician, but I enjoyed my work. For one of the gigs, when I was performing with a very well known national artist, I made arrangements for my mother to have front row tickets to the sold out concert. After the concert I asked her what she thought. She said it was very good but asked, “When are you going to get a real job?” I was shocked!
A few weeks prior to this she mentioned that I should go see her Chiropractor. I was starting to have increasing pain in my upper back, neck and arms due to the demands that my drumming made on me. I didn’t even know how to spell “Chiropractic” let alone know what a chiropractor did or what he could do for me. What he told me that first day made more sense to me then the medical career I was considering. He said, “The great thing about being a Doctor of Chiropractic is that in order to help people, I don’t take anything out, nor do I put anything in. I just help set the body on a path to heal itself.”
With the results I obtained through his care and armed with that philosophy, I have realized that my true given talent is in helping others through my special gift of Chiropractic.
I was raised and schooled in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan where I completed my studies in pre-med, computer science, mathematics and of course, music. I received my Doctorate from Palmer Chiropractic University in Davenport, Iowa in 1990.
I interned with chiropractors in Reno (Nevada) and Topeka (Kansas) prior to choosing to settle in Arkansas City. I received my Fellowship in Clinical Acupuncture through the Beijing Medical School, and continue my education to stay on the leading edge of techniques and technology to provide my patients the best possible care.
At Wood Chiropractic Clinic we strive to serve all that enter our clinic to the best of our abilities, through excellence in patient care and in professional ethics.
We work to bring back the lost art of customer service. At Wood Chiropractic Clinic, you become part of our family as we provide the utmost care and hope for all our patients. We believe health of Mind, Body and Spirit makes for a complete life.
My wife and I met while performing on a cruise ship in the Caribbean where we were both entertainers. We have been married for 28 years. I grew up in the northeast and she’s from the west coast. Kansas is just about as far as two people can get from their home towns but we love it here. Our Daughter has grown up here, she is involved in sports, music theater and academics.
I have a passion for educating others through seminars and lectures in and around the Cowley County area. (And the occasional radio show!) Additionally, I have served on the board of directors for USD 470 Parents As Teachers (PAT) , Presbyterian Manor’s Good Samaritan Fund and their Advocacy Board as well as the Arkansas City Area Arts Council. I partake in a silly sport called golf, and I still enjoy writing and performing music.
Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give our Arkansas City chiropractic office a call so we can help you take your first step toward better health!
